ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Bernalillo County Sheriff’s deputies say a fatal single vehicle rollover crash near 114th and Central led investigators to close down Central Saturday night.

An investigator on scene was told the crash happened after the driver of that vehicle swerved in an attempt to avoid hitting a coyote causing the car to roll.

A BCSO spokesperson says the passenger, a man by the name of Jesus Barraza, 19, was ejected from the car that rolled over. Barraza was taken to the hospital but died from his injuries.

It’s unknown at this time whether speed or alcohol were factors in the wreck.
