ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The family of prominent attorney Mary Han continues to fight for answers about her death.
Tuesday, a judge is hearing their case against the Office of the Medical Investigator. The family is pushing to have OMI change the listed cause of death on her autopsy report and reexamine her death.
Han was found dead inside her car in her garage in 2010. OMI listed her cause of death as carbon monoxide poisoning, by suicide. Her family maintains that Han never would have committed suicide, and accuses the Albuquerque Police Department of botching the investigation.
Han was well known for her lawsuits against APD and its officers. Han’s family sued APD and the city after her death. They lost that lawsuit.
