Family, friends of Ariana Romeo work to bring child’s body to father

Family and friends of little 6-year-old Ariana “Jade” Romeo are working to get her body home to her father in Florida.

A family friend of Ariana’s father, Joseph Romeo, has started a GoFundMe page.

At last check, the page has raised nearly $1,300 of their $15,000 goal.

Organizers of the GoFundMe page say her father lives in Florida, with one of Ariana’s brothers and with other family members close by.

They say her father was in the process of fighting for custody to get Ariana back home with him in Florida, instead of with her mother in Rio Rancho.

That’s until he received the earth-shattering news of his daughter’s death this past Sunday.

Now they’re hoping to raise $15,000.

They say this will help cover the expenses to get Ariana’s body to Florida and for her funeral.

Organizers say if there is any money left over, it will be donated to the National Children’s Alliance.

The GoFundMe page comes as shocking new details emerge from court documents.

According to the Albuquerque Journal, a search warrant describes officers finding Ariana dead body in a makeshift bedroom in what was the home’s garage.

Court documents also say that her body was found on bloody sheets on a piece of foam, near drugs, wearing no pants or underwear.

Investigators are still awaiting the results of an autopsy to determine exactly how Ariana was killed.

Police have yet to arrest any suspects in the case either.
