Loved ones gathered to honor the life of Joy Junction founder and CEO, Dr. Jeremy Reynalds.
Dr. Reynalds founded Joy Junction in 1986, focusing on sheltering and servicing homeless families throughout the city.
Last week, the 60-year-old died after fighting a long-term illness.
Tuesday afternoon, family and friends attended a memorial service for Dr. Reynalds at Calvary Church.
People who knew him say he changed lives in the community.
“Loved his kindness with his sons and his grandchildren, but he could turn around and be just as loving with anyone that was homeless. He’s just an incredible human being,” family member Bessie Gallegos said.
Afterwards, close family came together for a private reception.
