Threat forces closure of Magdalena Municipal School District on Wednesday


MAGDALENA, N.M. (KRQE) – School is canceled Wednesday, February 19 for the Magdalena Municipal School District due to a perceived threat. The district reports that after law enforcement investigated the incident, they determined that there was no credible threat.

District officials say law enforcement was able to immediately secure the facility Wednesday morning. The district reports that students’ safety is their top priority.

Regular class schedules will resume on Thursday, February 20.
