ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A teacher from Lavaland Elementary School in Albuquerque was given a state-wide teaching award Monday, Apr. 4. Shannon Ryan was given the Golden Apple Foundation Award. Just last week, Amanda Herman from Bernalillo Elementary School was also given a Golden Apple award.
Each year, the Golden Apple Foundation awards up to seven teachers from across New Mexico for excellence in teaching. Ryan was chosen from more than 200 nominees. All award winners will be recognized at an event in the fall.
