Edgewood Police unveil design for new patrol cars

EDGEWOOD, N.M. (KRQE) – Edgewood Police are now driving around town in style.

The department unveiled the new design for its patrol cars. The cars sport an American flag on the side and their motto, “Making Edgewood Better Together.”

One unit is already in service and two others will be soon.

If you received unemployment benefits you could owe taxes

EDINBURG, Texas (KVEO) — Tax season is just around the corner and for those who received unemployment benefits, you could be in for a big surprise. Those checks are taxable, so how much could you owe?

In a recent survey by Jackson Hewitt, 39 percent didn't know unemployment checks are taxable income – unlike the COVID stimulus checks issued in 2020 as part of the CARES Act. If you were on unemployment this year, you will need to file a 1099-G form. “The form 1099-G will have that breakdown, how much you received in unemployment benefits, and if any federal withholding occurred,” said Feliz Garcia, a tax professional with Happy RGV.
