Eddy County deputies bust man for stealing copper wire

ARTESIA, N.M. (KRQE) – A man was busted by Eddy County deputies for stealing a lot of copper wire.

Deputies responded to the Steel Depot in Artesia after employees noticed a suspicious vehicle driving around oil field sites. Deputies met up with Alfonso Hernandez who admitted to stealing 300 feet of copper wire.

Investigators say they found cutting tools, copper wire and other tools inside his truck.
