Eastdale falls short in Southwest Region championship

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Eastdale could not beat McAllister Park, also known as Texas West a second time. Texas West’s 13-3 victory over Eastdale in the Southwest Region Championship game in Waco, Texas Wednesday night put them into the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennslyvania and sent Eastdale home for the season.

Leading up to the final, Eastdale was the only undefeated team in the double elimination tournament. The bad thing for Eastdale is that the championship game was single elimination and they picked the wrong time to suffer defeat.

Texas West took an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning but, by the end of the inning Eastdale found themselves up 3-2 after Ryan Pullen drove in a run. That lead would turn into a 4-3 deficit and break wide open for Texas West in the fourth inning.

Pitcher Dominic Tellis drove in a pair of runs to help his own cause as Texas West built up a lopsided 9-3 lead. They would never look back while putting 13 runs on the board and advancing to Williamsport.
