Early Warning Dropout Prevention System launches statewide

News

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – The state is expanding a new system across New Mexico aimed at getting more students to graduate.

The “dropout early warning system” is designed to monitor academic, disciplinary and attendance history to see where a student may need special attention.

The data tells schools when a student isn’t meeting graduation benchmarks, so they can intervene early.

For the past two years, 17 New Mexico schools took part in the pilot program, helping nearly 400 students.
