Durango woman sues Silverton Mountain after chairlift accident

News

DURANGO, Colo. (KRQE) – A Durango woman is suing Silverton Mountain after falling from a chairlift in 2016, leaving her paralyzed from the waist down.

According to the Durango Herald, Gail Goehrig was knocked from the platform by the lift as she dismounted during a sightseeing trip.

She claims the ski area doesn’t properly warn guests of the lift’s dangerous conditions, but they claim they aren’t liable because she signed a risk waiver.

A tentative court date is set for next fall.
