Durango transit driver pleads guilty to drinking on the job

DURANGO, Colo. (KRQE) – A Durango transit driver who was drunk on the job has pleaded guilty.

Michael Corlies, 64, was behind the wheel of a trolley back in December when his mirror struck a parked delivery truck.

Police say Corlies notified dispatchers, claimed the mirror just fell off, and was given another vehicle to continue on his route.

But a review of the on-board camera revealed some questionable behavior and that is when Corlies was asked to perform a drug and alcohol test. Corlies was fired.

According to the Durango Herald, under the plea agreement Corlies must complete public service, pay restitution and submit to an alcohol evaluation.
