Durango residents to see utility rate increase next year

News

DURANGO, Colo. (KRQE) – People in Durango could see an increased utility bill next year.

During a study session on Tuesday, city councilors agreed to a higher trash and recycling rate than they previously discussed.

Officials say the increase will be about $5 for the average household.

It’s expected to raise around $50,000. They say that money will go toward projects that make the city more energy efficient.
