Durango railroad company anticipates arrival of new trains

News

The Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is expanding its fleet, with two new trains.

The railroad says buying the diesel locomotives is part of its commitment to offering a mix of modern and vintage train rides, as well as moving toward more environmental friendly technologies.

The trains are being manufactured by a company in Greenville, South Carolina, and are expected to be on the tracks by spring.
