DURANGO, Colo. (KRQE) – The body of a Durango man has been recovered in Wyoming after a climbing accident.
Deputies say 54-year-old Michael Sullivan fell 400 feet off Steeple Peak Monday.
The woman with him says they made it to the peak, but Sullivan lost his footing between rappels on his way down.
The woman hiked out until she could call for help. Strong winds prevented rescuers from reaching his body for two days.
