NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — After hearing that “To Kill A Mockingbird” and “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” had been temporarily suspended in Accomack County Public Schools, an anonymous donor sent 50 copies of each book to the LGBT Center Library in Norfolk.
An Accomack County group protested the temporary ban on the classic novels.
The donor said the books had a positive impact on them, and can have the same for future generations against racism and injustice.
The Accomack County School Board recently reinstated the books.
