SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – A Rio Arriba Sheriff’s Deputy critically injured in a crash recently has been let out of the hospital.
Deputy Cindy Garcia and her husband, Ted, a Taos County Deputy, were broadsided on Highway 599 in Santa Fe in early December 2016 while off duty.
Ted was treated and released. Cindy suffered a serious head injury.
According to the Rio Arriba County Sheriff, Cindy has been out of the hospital for a week now. He said she is eager to get back to work, but it’s unclear how long that will take.
The other driver who investigators say pulled out in front of the deputies was killed.
