ESPANOLA, N.M. (KRQE) – Rio Arriba County Sheriff’s deputies say they arrested a man suspected of violently raping a 76-year-old woman in her home near Española.
Friday night, deputies took Jason Cordova to jail.
Earlier this month, investigators say Cordova knocked on the woman’s door, asked for a coke and forced his way into her house when she said no.
Police later found the woman and she was taken to the hospital badly beaten.
Cordova is now facing multiple charges including criminal sexual penetration.
Officials say the woman was released from the hospital on Friday.
