ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque defense attorney is now the one in trouble, accused of groping and then bribing his teen babysitter.
Patrick J. Martinez, 48, is charged with three felony counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor.
According to a police report, his teen babysitter whose exact age is unknown, told APD that in late 2015, Martinez touched her bare breast and bare bottom, as well as her clothed bottom, while she was watching his two children.
The police report says the teen girl told officers that Martinez owed him $40 for watching his children, but Martinez gave her $100.
On Thursday, September 1, Martinez was indicted on the three felony charges.
KRQE News 13 went to his law office on Lomas near 12th, but was told he wasn’t there. We then went to his North Valley home where the crimes allegedly took place.
Someone, who wasn’t Martinez, answered the door and said the family wouldn’t be talking to anyone.
Martinez also did not respond to a voicemail left for him.
New Mexico Criminal Defense Lawyer Association, which, as of Thursday night, Martinez was still a member of, did not return calls either.
It’s unclear when Martinez could make his first court appearance in the case.
