Deadly northwest Albuquerque fire under investigation

Officials are investigating the cause of a deadly fire that occurred in northwest Albuquerque early Friday morning. Albuquerque Fire Rescue says the fire happened around 2:30 a.m.

Officials received reports of a person trapped inside an abandoned fourplex apartment complex at 63rd Street and Avalon. Crews reported flames shooting from the building.

After getting the fire under control, AFR says they found a person who had died. Crews are not releasing any other information about the victim at this time.
