Deadly Las Cruces police shooting deemed justified

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KRQE) – The District Attorney has ruled a deadly police shooting in Las Cruces was justified.

Officers were working with U.S. Marshals last month to arrest 29-year-old Jeremy Lopez-Robledo.

They found him near the Solano Square Shopping Center where new pictures show him pulling out a knife and slashing an officer on the hand.

That officer fired his gun, hitting Lopez-Robledo. He died at the hospital.

Police say he had a history of aggression toward law enforcement.
