RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) – The district attorney is set to decide if a former Rio Rancho substitute teacher will face charges for allegedly sending explicit Facebook messages to a 17-year-old student.
KRQE News 13 first told you about Kristy Gates on special assignment in January.
The boy in her class claims Gates sent him sexually explicit messages, video and photos.
Gates was fired, but she has yet to be charged with anything.
KRQE News 13 has been checking up on this case and found out Wednesday that police have turned their investigation over to the DA for review.
