District Attorney Raul Torrez plans to press criminal charges against a Bernalillo County sergeant.

Back in March, a supervising deputy saw Sergeant David Priemazon use excessive force while arresting a suspect.

He took his concerns to the sheriff, who ordered an internal affairs investigation.

That led to a criminal investigation by New Mexico State Police.

The DA now plans to charge Priemazon with aggravated battery resulting in great bodily harm.

He is currently on administrative leave pending an internal investigation.
