CYFD says its workers followed procedures while investigating claims a foster parent was molesting girls in his care.

Last month, KRQE News 13 told you on Special Assignment about claims a foster parent has been sexually abusing girls in his care for almost 20 years.

Eight girls, some as young as 6, came forward through the years.

CYFD has revoked the license of the nonprofit who placed children in the foster family’s home, saying the nonprofit often ignored those claims.

Some cases were reported to CYFD and Albuquerque Police. CYFD says it reviewed how it handled cases with this foster family in past and found investigators had followed all the procedures, including reporting the cases to police.

APD says it can’t comment on how they handled the case, saying they’re investigating the man involved.

He has not been charged.
