The former manager of a New Mexico Burger King is accused of issuing paychecks to nonexistent employees and pocketing the cash.

Denise Garcia-Quintana is charged with fraud, after police say she stole nearly $40,000 from the Burger King in Bloomfield where she worked.

Between 2014 and 2016, Garcia-Quintana is accused of depositing more than 100 checks made out to other people, some of whom used to work there and others who she made up.

On top of that, police say Garcia-Quintana is in the U.S. illegally and used another woman’s social security number to get the job.
