A woman accused of going on quite the crime spree with a man who was ultimately shot and killed by police asked a judge to let her out of jail Tuesday.
Jennifer Rael is accused of helping her boyfriend, Richard Rivera, rob several banks and businesses this summer.
When police caught up with Rivera he fled from them through the parking lot of a Smith’s store. That’s where police shot him.
Now, Rael’s attorney is arguing it’s not right that she’s still locked up, saying she was a minor player and there’s no evidence she would flee. They also say she is pregnant and has four children.
Prosecutors point out that she’s accused of helping Rivera rob two banks, a Verizon store and a convenience store. They further argued against her release, saying she also bought a gun.
