Trio charged with robbing dead woman’s Albuquerque home

Crime

Three people are charged with robbing a dead woman’s home.

The Albuquerque Police Department says a woman reported people stealing from her sister’s house.

The homeowner died in April, but neighbors say they saw two men taking off with the woman’s washer, dryer and TV in a truck.

Police traced the truck back to 40-year-old Jose Torrez.

They later found him and his wife, 43-year-old Christina Torrez and 27-year-old Zachory Herrera, also stole the woman’s SUV and thousands of dollars using her ATM card.

APD arrested the couple, but are looking for Herrera.
