A Tijeras man is facing 37 years behind bars after pleading guilty to federal charges connected to stealing mail.

Prosecutors say 36-year-old Jesse Tucker admitted to stealing the identities of nine people after stealing their mail between November 2016 and May 2017.

The locations of the theft are unknown but prosecutors say they happened all over Bernalillo and Valencia counties.

They say Tucker then obtained $70,000 by creating counterfeit I.D. cards and driver’s licenses and applying for loans.

His charges include bank fraud, aggravated identity theft and mail theft.
