The suspect at the center of an officer-involved shooting will stay locked up for now.
Last week, David Crespin led police officers on a chase in a stolen vehicle near Central and Eubank. He escaped by going the wrong way down the street.
Later that evening, a woman called 911 claiming she was being held against her will by Crespin at an apartment complex off Montgomery and Carlisle. Police say when they arrived a struggle ensued and at one point, Crespin grabbed for an officer’s weapon.
Authorities say one round was fired into the ground. Sunday in court, a judge granted a state motion to keep Crespin locked up until trial.
His case now moves to the district court.
