Suspect in Espanola murder to remain locked up

ESPANOLA, N.M. (KRQE) - One of the suspects accused in the murder of an Espanola teen will stay locked up for now.

Savannah Martinez is accused of driving one of the cars involved in the shooting of 18-year-old Cameron Martinez, a case, police say, of mistaken identity.

The New Mexican reports Savannah's attorney asked for Judge Joseph Madrid Thursday to release her on an ankle monitor, but the judge denied the request saying Savannah proved she was dangerous by getting into a car with people she knew planned to shoot people.

The six other teens accused remain behind bars.
