LAS VEGAS, N.M. (KRQE) – According to New Mexico State Police, an officer–involved shooting occurred on Friday, Mar. 10, in Romeroville, NM. According to an NMSP tweet, the officers are okay, and it is unknown if the suspect was injured.
Police said they are searching for Pedro Griego, 40, for his involvement in the shooting. They said officers noticed him at a gas station off I-25, but he took off in his truck and hit his girlfriend before they could approach him.
They reported that officers fired at least one shot toward Griego. Police chased him, but it ended when an officer got a flat tire.
