Santa Fe Police have arrested a woman for allegedly injuring her 5-year-old stepson.

According to the Santa Fe New Mexican, paramedics found the boy on the floor of a Santa Fe apartment Saturday.

His stepmother, 20-year-old Melynie Curtis, was taken into custody.

Police say the injuries were the result of a near drowning. They also mention some of the injuries are inconsistent with Curtis’s story.
