Questions remain in Dixon triple homicide

Crime

New Mexico State Police have released little information regarding a triple homicide near Dixon, New Mexico.

Police were contacted Wednesday around 8 p.m. and say it happened on NM State Road 580.

When officers arrived at the home they observed three deceased bodies inside the residence.

NMSP Investigations Bureau has responded to investigate and are reporting the deaths as homicides.

State police say that someone visited the house Wednesday, peeked into the window and saw the bodies which prompted them to call authorities.

Police say no one is at large in connection to the deaths and they want to assure residents they are not in danger but are not releasing how the victims died or who they believe is responsible.

In the small community of Dixon, many wonder how something like this could have happened.

“This is the first time it’s happened here in all of my life that I’ve been living here. I was shocked, neighbors also,” said Bruce Gonzales who worked with the victim.

Gonzales says he used to work with a man that lived in the house.

He says a woman also lived there and the man also had a girlfriend so they believe the victims are a man and two women, however, police have not confirmed this information.

Other neighbors KRQE News 13 spoke with say they often saw traffic going in and out of the house and believe drugs may be involved although the last few days things have been quiet.

KRQE News 13 asked police if it could be a possible murder-suicide since they said they were not looking for a suspect.

Police said they really don’t know at this point and are trying to sort this out.

KRQE News 13 will update when more information becomes available.
