ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Police are investigating a homicide in northwest Albuquerque. Officers were called to an area north of I-40 and Rio Grande at Rice Ave. on Sunday night around 7 p.m.
Authorities report that a dispatch call was initially in reference to a vehicle crash. However, the Albuquerque Police Department states that as officers arrived at the scene, they found a deceased female with obvious signs of trauma.
Police are now investigating the incident has homicide due to the suspicious nature of the scene. APD has identified the victim as Johanna Montoya.
