The Albuquerque Police Department needs help finding an accused killer after they identified him through DNA.

Investigators say James Chavez shot two men at the Circle K on University and Menaul earlier this month.

Police say Chavez was loitering and was asked to leave. They say Chavez pulled a gun and fired shots, hitting James Ronquillo and Jesus Lopez who were watching as Chavez was being escorted off the property.

Both men died.

APD says DNA from a water bottle left at the scene helped them identify Chavez as the shooter.

He has a warrant out for his arrest.
