The man who owns the Rio Rancho home where a 6-year-old died was released from jail.

Sixty-three-year-old Winston Scates was arrested last week in a separate case that came to light during the investigation of Ariana Romeo’s murder.

Investigators say Scates molested another young girl in the home.

Prosecutors asked that he remain behind bars until trial.

Friday, Sandoval County District Court Judge Louis McDonald released him with court supervision.
