A New Mexico man who Animal Control says admitted to brutally killing his dog is charged with animal cruelty.

An Animal Control officer was called out to a mobile home earlier this month in Thoreau, McKinley County.

The officer says she found a small dog dead with a crushed paw from a claw trap and an arrow shot through his body.

The officer says its owner, George Milliken, said he got angry with the dog because it had torn out insulation from his trailer.

Milliken wasn’t arrested for the crime until just this week.
