FARMINGTON, N.M. (KRQE) – A man will spend two decades behind bars for killing his five-year-old son. Fernando Azofeifa pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for smothering the child with a pillow in a Farmington apartment in March of 2019. Investigators say it happened after an argument with the boy’s mother. Under a plea agreement, Azofeifa will serve 22 years in prison.
