APD officers chased a man across the railroad tracks downtown after he slipped away from them.

Police say 23-year-old Brandon Lujan was under arrest for domestic violence.

According to a criminal complaint, an officer was walking Lujan to the Alvardo transportation center on 1st Street for booking Sunday, when he took off running.

Lujan ran onto the nearby railroad tracks, climbing a barbed wire fence at one point.

Police say a good Samaritan was able to corner him until officers caught up.

He is now charged for the escape attempt, on top of his original domestic violence charges.
