A scary scene inside a South Valley home led to a man’s arrest.
Early Friday morning, a woman says she found a random man inside the kitchen of her home near Isleta and Arenal.
She told deputies he was rummaging through cabinet drawers, looking for items to take.
The woman barricaded herself and her two children inside a bedroom until Bernalillo County Sheriff’s deputies arrived.
Patrick Overson, 32, reportedly told deputies that “his uncle took him there.”
Overson appeared in Metro Court over the weekend, where Judge Christine Rodriguez gave him a $1,000 cash or surety bond.
“The court does find Mr. Overson to be a flight risk. I think a bond would be appropriate in this matter,” said Judge Rodriguez.
Overson’s criminal history includes drug possession.
