A New Mexico man has been found guilty of murdering his coworker.

Jared Young was 19 when he shot and killed David Tally in 2016 at an Alamogordo home.

Young originally told investigators he thought he was shooting a home invader and only figured out afterwards it was his friend and coworker.

However, according to court documents Young was expecting Tally to show up there. He was also high on meth.

An Otero County jury convicted Young of second-degree murder and other charges.

His sentencing is scheduled for next month.
