A drunk driver who got a big break after hitting and killing two people will not have nearly six more months shaved off her sentence.

Christie Noriega argued she should get credit for the time she spent on a GPS ankle monitor while awaiting trial. She’s the woman sentenced to just a year and a half in prison for killing Lonnie Escovido and Mikey Chambellan on the side of I-25.

Judge Louis McDonald faced backlash for that decision, since Noriega could have gotten 30 years.

Friday, Judge McDonald denied her request to count her time on GPS. However, he did take off 19 days she actually spent behind bars before trial, which the state agreed to.
