A jury could not reach a unanimous verdict for the man who allegedly tried to kidnap a 12-year-old girl as she walked home from school.
Investigators say Armando Chavez grabbed a girl near Gibson and I-25 back in 2017, groped her, and hit her on the head.
Chavez faced charges including criminal sexual contact, child abuse and false imprisonment. On Thursday however, a judge announced that there was a hung jury resulting in a mistrial.
When KRQE News 13 reached out to the District Attorney’s office for comment, a spokesperson said they’re weighing their options at this time.
