ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man is behind bars after police say he told them he killed his wife and should be taken to jail. Police say they were responding to a suspicious person call near Tiguex Park off of Mountain on Sunday afternoon.

On scene, authorities say Lee Marco Cuellar threw a pill bottle at an officer’s patrol car and told them he killed his wife. Officers did find his wife’s body under a blanket in their home along Rio Madre near Dennis Chavez Blvd.

Police say while questioning Cuellar he told them he had to strangle his wife because he believed she was a demon and was going to hurt his family. Cuellar is charged with an open count of murder.
