A woman allegedly embezzled more than $100,000 from her southeast New Mexico employer.
The Lea County Sheriff’s Office says back in July, Lea County Roadside, a towing company, reported its business credit card limit was maxed out.
Investigators found out 35-year-old Karrie Torrez of Hobbs fraudulently used the credit card and checking account.
Torrez is accused of making personal purchases totaling $144,000.
Last Monday, she turned herself in to deputies and now faces charges including embezzlement and tampering with evidence.
