There was talk in court about releasing the teen accused of running over a man and killing him.

Back in 2016, police say then-14-year-old Matthew Jaramillo stole an SUV and picked up a prostitute. He then ran over Richard Sisneros. He’s awaiting trial for the murder.

Friday, Jaramillo’s attorneys called for him to be released, but he has not gone through an evaluation to determine if that’s a good idea. No one seems to know why that hasn’t been done in the months since it’s been ordered.

Both sides discussed transporting him to another state for evaluation. No decision was made. The issue will be taken up again later this month.
