Details released in deputy-involved shooting in Rio Arriba County

More information is being discovered regarding a deputy-involved shooting in Rio Arriba County.

The shooting happened in August near the Jemez Mountains Electric Co-op on Highway 84.

New Mexico State Police say two deputies were called to the scene in response to a fight.

Further investigation led them to a home on County Road 1 in Hernandez where they found two men arguing in the road.

At one point, one man pulled a rifle on the deputies causing one of them to open fire.

State Police say no one was shot and the suspects were detained for questioning.

The men were released and at this time no charges have been filed.
