A Walmart receipt led investigators to a couple accused of murder.

Deputies found 54-year-old Mark Pena’s body in a ditch in the South Valley last week.

They say his car had been abandoned in the southeast. Deputies found the receipt while searching the car and watched the store’s surveillance video.

On it, they saw 41-year-old Rose Montano driving Pena’s car.

Investigators say she and her boyfriend, 39-year-old Tommy Rodriguez, shot and stabbed Pena over drugs, dumped his body, and planned to take off to Mexico.
