Convicted child rapist accused of sexually assaulting teen

Crime

A serial child rapist will stay behind bars until trial after getting in trouble again.

Edward Cebada was convicted in 2013 after he pleaded guilty to having sex with two 13 and 14-year-old Albuquerque girls who he had met on the internet.

He was also convicted of a sex crime against a child in Sandoval County.

Cebada went to prison for the crimes and was released on parole.

While a sex offender on parole, in April 2018, he’s accused of sexually assaulting a high school student outside of Cottonwood Mall.

Wednesday, the attorney general argued Cebada is a danger and should stay locked up until trial. Judge Brett Loveless agreed.
