Clovis officials say they will hold a moment of silence on Tuesday for the two killed at a Clovis library a year ago.

The observance will be held at the Clovis Carver Public Library at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28.

The memorial will be on the library’s south lawn.

That’s the library where a 17-year-old is accused of opening fire, killing two librarians and injuring four other people.

City officials say $30,000 donated after the shooting will go to college scholarships in the names of the two librarians, Krissie Carter and Wanda Walters, along with donations to five high school libraries in Curry County.

Portraits of the women will also hang in the library.
